Have you got that nasty pinch in your hip when you go to lift it?
- Got that funny ring pain that goes from the front of the hip around the side and into the low back of the hip?
- Do you have that annoying tight hip that never lets go and feels like it weighs a thousand pounds?
- Does it feel gushy and gummy and not right?
- Like you can’t grab the muscles that are supposed to get it moving?
- Are you finding that stretching your hip doesn’t work great and it almost feels worse after you stretch it?
Any of these above symptoms can be from a tight hip flexor complex. The muscles include the hip flexors, glutes, quads and often parts of your core.
As trainers, we often help clients improve this complex of tissue and get it moving again.Â
It sucks and it’s not fun and it’s a lousy movement pattern that your Physio and Chiro are going to have trouble with if you don’t correct the bad movements themselves.
Correcting the poor movements is often enough to relieve the hip and get you moving again.
This goes for you no matter what age you are.
If you feel like you can’t move well and your bad hip is always about to send a soccer pass with your insole, you may need some help with your hip.
As functional trainers, we’ve worked a great deal on these types of issues.
- Sessions will help you re-engage your core.
- Untie sore muscles in the front and back of the hip.
- Stretch the chronically tight muscles and fascia that are restricting movement.
- Help you understand how to avoid this issue in the future.
Tight hips and glutes are common but good treatment for them isn’t. You need to have someone who understands how the hip works.
