Do calories in equal calories out?!?
Is 2000 Cals of Ice Cream 🍨 exactly the same as 2000 Cals of Vegetables? 🍅🌽
You probably guessed by now that it is not the same. Though every food has a calorie before it goes into a body, it does many different things once it is inside our bodies. Vegetables have fiber and nutrients with which help as catalysts for energy release whereas ice cream has fat and sugar which can sometimes be more readily stored and not used as an energy source.
Everything we eat does different things inside of us..
You want to keep in mind that what you’re eating isn’t just the calories that are contained in it.
Furthermore, it wouldn’t be a good idea to eat 2000 calories of just ice cream or vegetables. Our bodies need all kinds of nutrients for doing different things. Think of all the amazing creatures, vegetation and structures that exist in a healthy coral reef. We are similar in that we need all kinds of different things to keep our bodies running well too.
