Is flexibility REALLY important? No. It’s not. Not at all.
Stretching is important and it feels great to stretch and it can loosen you up a great deal but how flexible you are has very little significance.
Don’t let the bendable noodles flexibility shame you!
That being said, there is one key to flexibility: We want both sides of the body to be even.
If one side of your body is locked up, you definitely want to fix that. Let us know if you’ve got one chronic locked up side.
If one side of your body is always under tension, you need to address this. Our bodies are covered in Fascia and it’s meant to tug and pull
and hold and stretch and move us around like a webbing.
(It’s the white stuff between the muscles and it’s very special).
When it’s locked up or we have a tight muscle locking it up, we tend to feel like everything’s off.
You may also notice your Physio and Chiro can’t unlock this one side issue either.
That’s because it’s often movement based.
As trainers, we address the movements causing this tight side.
Think about it, we’re Human Kinetics and Kinesiology Specialists. This just means we know Movement.
And we know that one side of your body ain’t movin!
Now granted, this isn’t the easiest thing to address but our head personal trainer is very knowledgeable in this area.
If you’re in pain all the time on one side and you didn’t do anything special to that side to deserve all this nonsense, it might be time to untie that nasty movement pattern causing all this muscular frustration.
